"Our goal," said Jeff Kirk, GEP Artistic Director, "is to show a range of original artistic interpretations of conventional ceramic topics by a group of very accomplished potters. Many of the materials and methods used to create pottery date back thousands of years, and yet, we continue to see fresh ideas and approaches emerging through this ancient craft." Both functional and non-functional pieces will be included and most will be available for purchase, according to Kirk. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Gallery which is located at 7300 MacArthur Boulevard in Glen Echo. The Popcorn Gallery will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6:00 PM, and weekdays by appointment. Glen Echo Pottery is a full time pottery school
offering classes for adults and young adults, beginning through
advanced students. The exhibit is presented in cooperation with the
Glen Echo Partnership for Arts and Culture, Inc., and the National Park
Service. Hand Built Ceramics Exhibition and Demonstrations Saturday, May 10 & Sunday, May 11, noon -5:00 PM Opening reception Friday, May 9, 7:30-9:00 PM Location: Pottery Gallery Yurt (near the Carousel) Admission: FREE The Glen Echo Pottery Gallery will host an exhibition of works
