The Glen Echo Pottery Gallery will be be closed for the winter and reopen on April 7, 2018. Beginning again next April we will be open every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 pm and for extended time during special events in the Park
We welcome visitors (especially children!) into the Gallery to watch our advanced potters demonstrate on the wheel or create pieces using hand-building techniques.
The Gallery currently shows the work of 28 instructors and advanced students from Glen Echo Pottery. All pieces are for sale and represent a variety of forms, glaze treatments and firing effects. Most of our pieces are functional—cups, bowls, jars, vases, casseroles, and the like—offering utility and beauty to everyday life. Decorative works include raku, ceramic bead jewelry and sculptural vessels. This is a showcase of ceramic art made here in our studios in the Park!
Comment from a Gallery customer during 2016 Labor Day Weekend: "Always find great gifts there. Everyone friendly and helpful. Pleasant all around."
